This page explains what personal data is used when you visit hoppinhopper.co.uk or email us, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Articles are written under the pen name Molly Harlow. You can contact us at hello@hoppinhopper.co.uk.

In short

This site sets no cookies and has no analytics, tracking, forms, accounts, adverts, or third-party fonts or scripts. You don't have to give us any personal data.

When you visit

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site (Cloudflare Pages). To deliver pages and keep the site secure, it processes technical data for the company: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the time, and error reports if a page fails to load. We don't keep these logs. Cloudflare keeps them briefly under its own retention rules. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a working, secure website.

When you email us

Cloudflare Email Routing forwards email, without storing it, to the company's Yahoo Mail mailbox, where emails are stored. We use your name, email address and message only to reply to you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: answering people who contact us. We delete emails 12 months after our last exchange, unless we need one for a complaint or legal claim.

Who else sees your data

Only Cloudflare (hosting and email forwarding) and Yahoo (the company's email provider). We don't sell your data, share it with anyone else or use it for marketing, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Data outside the UK

Cloudflare and Yahoo may process data outside the UK, including in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the UK-US data bridge, which UK law treats as adequate, and it also uses the ICO's International Data Transfer Addendum. Email us for details.

Links to other websites and their cookies

Hoppin Hopper isn't in any affiliate programme yet, so no link on this site earns money. If you click a link to a retailer or any other website, you leave this site, and that site can set its own cookies. Those cookies are controlled by that site, not by us, and its own privacy and cookie policies apply. We don't pass your details to other sites.

Your rights

You can ask us, free of charge, for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it. We'll reply within one month.

Your right to object: you can object at any time to how we use your data. If you do, we'll stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the data for a legal claim.

Complaints

Please email us first. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

We'll update this page before adding affiliate links, analytics, a newsletter or anything else that uses personal data.
